ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION
Primary Functions
Ø To provide technical support for all desktop related business products. Accountable for the implementation and ongoing verification of Security patch’s (OS and Virus) within bank’s locations.
Ø To manage Desktop Support Engineers team resources who are responsible for the ongoing support of the bank’s businesses to ensure a secure, stable and highly resilient environment.
Ø To manage Desktop Support Engineers resources who are responsible for the ongoing support and services of the Banks data centre operation ensuring a secure, stable and highly resilient environment without any error in operation & processing
Ø To assist in new implementations or upgrades to existing systems, including project management, tracking and reporting
Ø To assist in the provision of business recovery sites to give the ability to conduct business transactions and monitor exposure in the event of a disaster.
Ø Responsible for the enforcement of global strategies and standards in all bank’s locations including ensuring risk / compliance and security / build standards are followed
Ø Risk management control, KCS assistance, SIP initiatives and reporting, including Technical audit compliance indirectly complying bank’s approved process.
Ø Problem & RMS management – outstanding incident management, call logging; call reporting including high severity problem control. All remedy related initiatives and updates. Ensuring standards are adhered to, or dispensations raised
Ø Work closely with ITSC, CTM and CSS to provide technical support to local users and local systems
Ø Security vulnerability management – MA patches, SVT outstanding issues, standard build usage
Ø Protectors of the local environment, including responsibility to ensure safe and tidy IT installations and cabling, local regulatory compliance, health and safety adherence etc
Secondary Functions
Ø Confirm backup of existing systems.
Ø Regular monitoring of various systems.
Ø Ensure that the physical/logical security of the Data Centre is maintained.
Ø Ensure climatic control, operating environment, cleanliness and tidiness of the Data Centre.
Ø Ensure that the backup of all the databases is taken and kept off-site as per the Group Standard Policy.
Ø SOD/EOD report consolidation & update in Server Farm
Ø Submit Today’s status report
Ø Check & confirm DCR utility report of the month
Ø Upload desktop/laptop deployment checklist to Share Point site.
Ø Provide 1st line support for all public holiday excluding Saturday.
